Jessica Hernández

Hello, and please call me Jess. I’ve enjoyed playing clarinet for over fifteen years and have a passion for teaching music to people of all ages. I was musically educated in the classical “western” style of music but was also trained in a traditional Mexican folk-style of music.
I teach during the day (in schools and in private lessons), play nights & weekends (clarinetist of Banda Revolución de la Sierra), and I am also the co-director of a youth community brass band (Banda Nueva Dinastía de Zoochila).
I enjoy expanding my musical horizons, learning about new musical cultures, and participating and collaborating with others –especially when it involves music, teaching, and kids.
And I like to read.
