Jessica Beaudoin
laboratory manager in Urbana, Illinois
The name’s Jess. I make my living chasing scientists around, enforcing safety practices and helping when things inevitably go awry. I have a pre-vet med background and several years of academic research experience working with cancer cells and genetically encoded biosensors. During my time off I enjoy my other loves; sewing, crafting, music, going to shows, playing guitar, going on long walks, hanging out with my animals. Being professionally scientific and unprofessionally artistic is a hard balance to strike, and I hope to better unite the two fronts one day. In the meantime I’ll keep placing chemical orders and wrangling undergrads into lab coats.
