Jessica Elichman
Jessica Elichman is a freelance legal author. Ms. Elichman's work has been published on Lexis Nexis' human resource compliance product, Xpert HR, and focuses on providing employers and human resource professionals with guidance in handling a range of employment issues, including managing leave requests, social media and privacy issues, and handling claims of harassment and discrimination. Ms. Elichman also contributed dozens of state specific employment law manuals for Xpert HR on topics such as preemployment screening and hiring practices, employee performance reviews, and involuntary terminations.
Prior to writing, Jessica Elichman worked at Jackson Lewis LLP, a national labor and employment firm. Initially Ms. Elichman joined Jackson Lewis as a Summer Associate in 2002, and then became an Associate with the Firm in 2004. During her time as an Associate, Jessica Elichman handled various aspects of employment litigation defense, including the drafting of pleadings, briefs, and settlement agreements. Additionally, she investigated claims of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment in the workplace. Ms. Elichman trained and counseled clients regarding a range of employee issues in the workplace. She also prepared employment related documents, including handbooks, severance and non-competition agreements.
Jessica Elichman received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with distinction and earned a 3.7 grade point average. She subsequently relocated to New York City and attended Fordham University School of Law. In addition to completing her coursework, she was an Associate Editor of the Environmental Law Journal.
