Jessica Nguyen

Student in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hi there, my name is Jessica. I am currently a fourth-year student of Ryerson University’s Creative Industries Program. I love to read, listen to music, and watch movies. I also love to travel because exploring new places, cultures, and past histories is very exciting to me.

A little more about me: I attended an honours math, science and technology program in high school. However, when deciding what field I wanted to pursue a career in, I was more interested in entertainment, media, marketing, and digital strategy. Although, this was not a total shock, as I’ve always had a diverse range of interests. I am very interested in storytelling and making (lasting) connections with other people which is why I think a career in marketing would be fun and rewarding.

Through out my academic career, I have developed and strengthened my critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and research skills. I have created multiple proposals, marketing plans, and business plans (usually within a group), and a few more creative projects as well. I am also adept at managing deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment.

My goal is to be a part of creative projects, working alongside innovative thinkers and inspiring people. I want to be able to contribute to something great, but also learn from my environment and the people around me. I hope to make as many meaningful connections as possible, whether it be to people, places, or things (for example, music, books, or brands). I have a passion for marketing and want to combine my love of storytelling with a career.
