Jessica Pierce
Plymouth, Minnesota
I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies. I now live back in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis, where I am dipping my toes into healthy living, intentional relationships, and dreaming big dreams for my future.
Post-graduation, in the midst of my job-searching process, I received an invitation to be part of Clarity Church, a new church plant near my home. The heart behind the church is very similar to everything I loved about Cru in college, and I'm excited to say that I accepted the invitation and have been beginning to get my feet wet with this new opportunity. I'm not entirely sure where this path will lead, but I'm going to take it and find out!
And now I invite you to continue this journey with me as I coordinate small groups (called communities), large group events, and community outreaches-- it's a different kind of event planning from what I did with Cru, but I'm looking forward to getting more experience. : ) For anyone in the Twin Cities area, I invite you to check out the church's website (http://claritymn.org) and attend a Sunday gathering!
My friends and family describe me as organized, creative, responsible, friendly, and loving. I love to read, write, sing, jog, crochet, watch movies, cook, and spend time with my friends, family, and German Shepherd.
I first became interested in event planning when I was in high school, although I didn't really know it then. I worked with other students on my youth group's leadership team to plan several events for a few years. I worked with Cru in college to plan both large and small events on my campus that focused on service and community, and realized how great it feels to plan and execute events that people thoroughly enjoy! We planned fall events like our annual Barn Bash, beach party, and Christmas party, along with a Operation Christmas Child drive for Samaritan's Purse. In the spring, we had a bunch more events planned, and I couldn't wait to share them with you as they developed! That's where my blog began-- with my adventures in event planning.
Life post-college has been a series of transitions, each complete with a lesson or two to teach me along the way. Thankfully, I had my friends, family, and involvement with Clarity to help me remain somewhat sane. I currently work for a display fixture company, but would be quick to tell you that I am much more than what my day job might suggest.
