Jessica Atkinson

Lynchburg, VA

At John Randolph Tucker High School in Richmond, Virginia, Jessica Atkinson shared her talents in the Show Choir, the Treble Choir, and the Dance Team as well. She also managed the varsity football team. She went on to study elementary education at Liberty University and Central Virginia Community College, both in Lynchburg. In August 2012, she joined Caterpillar Clubhouse, located between Forest and Lynchburg, where she helps prepare children for kindergarten by teaching a variety of subjects including reading, science, and math. Previously, Jessica Atkinson was an Assistant Teacher at the Staples Mill Road Baptist Church Child Development Center in nearby Glen Allen, for several years, working with preschool and school age students.

Ms. Atkinson has designed and implemented meaningful curriculum for students and trained new employees on policies and procedures. Skilled in customer service, including conflict resolution, she has handled a variety of monetary transactions with 100 percent accuracy. Her skills also include computer literacy, communicating with parents, and hiring effective employees. Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid, Ms. Atkinson performs well in high-demand settings and excels in team building and staff motivation.

When not pursuing her studies or working in Lynchburg or elsewhere, Ms. Atkinson, a devout Christian, has participated in a number of mission trips, to Florida, New York, Puerto Rico, Italy, and Ecuador. Ms. Atkinson also continues to sing and has studied at Richmond Dance Center for 15 years. Her additional interests include helping the Sudanese people, playing disc golf, reading, watching movies, and traveling. She also enjoys shopping excursions.
