Jessica Conroy grew up in Bethel Connecticut with two brothers and was very outgoing. She was eager to start getting involved with teams at a young age, when she was four she was the only girl on the tee ball team. As she grew up she continued to play softball until high school. When Jess was in high school her interests changed and she became a member of the varsity volleyball, and tennis team. Jess really appreciates and values her time on the court with sports; she became uninterested in high school and feels like sports helped push her through.
After high school Jess transferred to a community college. At first she had no idea what to major in, she knew she liked mathematics, but her other classes weren’t interesting so she took some time off from school. Jess decided to get a full time job working with dogs, and loved it. She did a lot for the small doggie daycare she worked at. In her three years there she got to watch, and help the business grow to become very successful. She learned a lot and took on a lot of roles. She helped promote, bookkeep, training staff, take inventory, and much more. Jess was so interested in the business side of the company that she decided to go back to school full time and get a BBA management degree, she loved this major and found every class very interesting. Another advantage with the business major was business management and accounting were almost the same classes, to get her accounting degree she would only have to take a few more classes. Jess was the first in her family to graduate, and she had a 3.5 GPA.
Jess continues to work with dogs in her spare time. She has helped at shelters transporting abandoned dogs. She also creates and sells flower arrangements at a local business around the holidays. Jess recently became interested in roller derby and became a part of the rookie team; because of a busy six class semester she had to take a leave of absence.
