Jessica Smith

As a librarian and researcher, my goal is to contribute toward the increasing demand for electronic access in the academic and public setting, while exploring the expanding opportunities in web development and social networking in relation to the library community. I also strive to develop outreach programming and innovative service models for all ages.
I enjoy doing a bit of everything – designing a web page or research guide, teaching instruction sessions, thinking up creative programming ideas for children, teens and adults, fixing the balky stapler and/or copier when it jams, tinkering with my librarian+stereotypes blog, providing excellent research assistance in any library setting, or discovering the endless social medias and technologies that can better promote one’s institution. I also enjoy mastering new challenges to add to my list of skills.
I have gained experience in the academic and public setting — in both the library and non-library fields — and possess an expert level of customer service, library instruction, web development and social media pizzazz.
