With a mind and heart to serve administratively, Jessica Powell is excelling in the world of opportunity. From non-profit management to mental health administration, she has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience providing administrative support to help businesses thrive in the competitive arena.
Jessica began in the administrative field in 2005 working for the City of Goldsboro. She advanced to working with non-profit organizations, and currently she is an administrative assistant for One to One with Youth, Inc. a mental health agency. She joined in 2013.
Prior to her position at One to One With Youth, Jessica worked for six years as an administrative assistant and program manager with ADLA, Inc. a non-profit community development corporation providing life skills training, behavior modification, and educational support services for at-risk youth. In previous years, she held clerical positions with various organizations.
Jessica has over 10 years of experience in the fields of administration, secretarial support and 6 years in community development. Her expertise coupled with her passion to serve people are her motivation. “It was my first opportunity as a secretary working to help the city provide housing opportunities for low-income families that sparked something in me to work with community corporations as a liaison for families and as an administrative professional. Helping to solve problems and enhance business services fuels me. Working in the field of administration has connected me with executives who not only want to grow their business but build better lives as individuals. And that’s where I come in."
Jessica’s administrative skills exceed beyond the office desk into overseeing teams and major projects. She has a strong focus on teamwork, accountability, and executive support. Jessica has managed community programs, lead diverse teams, assisted in grant writing projects and developed office systems for small businesses and non-profits. “Business excels when you have a solid business infrastructure and a skilled administrative team. It thrives when you have a supportive administrative assistant with an eye for detail and a belief in your practices and is always ready for any task."
Jessica is currently on the path to starting her own business providing administrative services and training for small businesses as well as personal and professional development coaching to minority women.
