Jessica Harkema

A passionate event planner, educated at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary in Tourism Management and Marketing.

I fell into event planning through my co-op work placement where I started my journey planning academic conferences and continued doing so throughout the remainder of my education.

Upon graduation, I was awarded the Sliver Medallion for studies in tourism, the highest recognition of academic and was admitted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an business honour society for those who graduated in the top 10% of their class.

After a stint of travelling, I was offered a position planning the first ever Music Festival to take place in my home town, Salt Spring Island - the Salt Spring Garlic & Music Festival.

My role in the festival was monumental. I oversaw the budget, volunteers, liquor licence and sales, transportation, ticket sales, social media marketing, internal communications, sponsor benefits, public gate coordination, VIP Ticket distribution to name a few of my roles.
