jessica is a contemporary applied artist who loves to find new ways to use classic materials. visual objects and themes mostly inspire jessica, looking at shape, texture and colours to create her wearable art.

'i like to call my pieces 'wearable art' rather than jewellery as i see my pieces as more than jewellery and more like a decorative art piece adorning the body.'

she loves tactile pieces which makes someone just want to pick it up and feel it and would like to create this feeling about her own work. she has worked in materials like, leather, silver, stoneware, rubber, glazes, plastics, threads and many more. jessica likes to create pieces which are not necessarily obviously linked to a theme but has a strong journey to creating it.

'I have always been passionate about art and wanted to create my own quality pieces, made by hand. After developing my own skills now appreciate art in a totally different way and can now see how much effort goes into a piece.'

she has always wanted to be in the arts industry but wasn't sure what she wanted to do. However during her diploma she developed a passion for jewellery and was never seen without atleast five rings on. this grew into a love for jewellery. wanting to start her own buisness, designing, creating and selling her products she started a fda in applied arts at cleveland college of art and design where she learnt skills in ceramics, textiles and jewellery and gave her the freedom to explore materials and techniques creating her own personal style. she wants her work to be distinctive and stand out from others so spends time pushing materials finding weird and wonderful ways of using materials . completing her foundation degree with a distinction, she decided to do an extra year to top it up to fully complete a ba honours degree.

'i aim to be an inspiration to others who are as passionate about art as me.'

while doing her third year in university she has found a group of like-minded people who also would like to help others perfect there skills. while creating there own individual buisness's and work they are going to be offering workshops for a range of ages teaching skills in jewellery, drawing, ceramics and photography under the name 'creative
