Jessica Lucinda Amprako is a doctoral student in the Department of Management in International Food Industries at the University of Kassel, Germany. During her bachelor’s degree, she designed a plant for the production of multiple products from maize and obtained a B.Sc. in Food Process Engineering degree from the University of Ghana in 2013. She dedicatedly served as a teaching and research assistant in her department afterwards.

In 2014, Ms. Amprako was awarded a scholarship by the Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst (KAAD) to pursue her master’s degree in University of Kassel, Germany. She completed her master’s thesis on the “Optimization of Herb Dryers: Case Study on the Drying Process of Three Hop Farms in Strasbourg, France” and graduated with a M.Sc. in International Food Business and Consumer Studies in 2016.

In addition to Ms. Amprako’s academic journey, she has diverse skills. She obtained a certificate in “International Training Programme” in Quality Management and Marketing of Organic Agricultural Commodities (Food standards, ISO 17065, marketing strategies, IFS, HACCP) from Deutsches Institut für Tropische und Subtropische Landwirtschaft, DISTL GmbH in 2016. She was also awarded a certificate of participation in “UN Lecture Series on Sustainable Development, Food Security and Humanitarian Assistance, Germany in 2017.

As a result of her passion for food quality audits, she was awarded with a certificate in Internal Audits training in (DIN EN ISO 9000: 2015, DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015 DIN EN ISO 9004: 2009 DIN EN ISO 19011: 2011)certified by the European Training Institute for Qualification of Auditors from MICHEL-INSTITUT / ETIQA in 2017. She also has a qualification certificate as a sensory assessor Qualification Certificate, (Sensory training basics according to DIN EN ISO 8586:2014-05 andFiZZ- Software)

Currently, Jessica Lucinda Amprako is pursuing her doctoral studies with the focus on comparative studies of corporate social responsibility in food supply chains. She investigates the influence of varieties of capitalism and national business systems on corporate social responsibility reporting in developed, developing and emerging countries. With the passion to impart her knowledge on others, she is also a teaching assistant and is responsible for the organization of lectures for graduate students in the module “Responsible Food Business in Global Context” in the winter semester
