Jessica Ludders
Maine and North Carolina
My passion is teaching, be it introducing teens to literature and critical thinking, teaching under grads about writing and analysis, or sharing with educators the joys of teaching blended and online courses.
Students are people first: they need high expectations, clear guidelines, open ears, and a tender heart. Once the relationship is established and they trust it, magic happens. Students want to succeed and they will do anything you ask of them if you give them achievable goals, engaging experiences, and thoughtful coaching.
As a lifelong learner, I model the passion, resilience, and grit needed to dig deeper in this vast field of education to discover and develop best practices to support learners of all ages.
I am an English teacher and instructional lead for the North Carolina Virtual Public School, an instructor for the University of Maine Augusta, and a graduate instructor at the University of Maine where I work in the College Of Education and Human Development. I am humbled to have been named 2015 North Carolina Virtual Teacher of the Year.
