My Research Program

More than Just a Scientist:

  • My research program focuses on identifying therapeutic targets for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its risk factors (e.g., diabetes, hypertension). ***For a detailed description of my research program, please see my linkedin and researchgate accounts.

Beyond Research I actively:

  • Foster the next generation of researchers/physicians
  • Inform the community on health issues, which help fight disease epidemics and promote healthy lifestyle choices.

Mentorship

  • intimately involved in training Urology residents and medical students, extending help necessary for learning laboratory techniques to creating committee/grand rounds presentations.
  • mentored a medical student by conceiving their research project and guiding their progress throughout the summer.
  • instructor in the science technology entry program (STEP) program, which fosters minorities in science-related careers.
  • Leadership position in Student National Medical Association (SNMA) including President
  1. mentored pre-medical students in the NY area.
  2. established MAPS chapters at both St. Rose College and SUNY-Albany.
  • tutored students at Albany High school to pass the NY regants exam, necessary for their high school diploma.
