Hello, I’m Jessica. I’m a teacher living and teaching on Long Island. I have a Master's Degree from Hofstra University in Literacy Studies.
I currently teach 5th grade Reading & Writing in a Middle School. Previously I have worked for the New York City Department of Education teaching 3rd and 5th Grade in Queens. In this role I co-wrote writing curriculum for my school and presented it with colleagues at the 2017 NCTE Conference in St. Louis, MO.
I believe in teaching with empathy and kindness. I am certified in teaching children's yoga through ChildLight. I like to incorporate mindfulness and yoga techniques in my classroom, which I believe benefits the Social Emotional Learning of my students.
I am a lifelong learner who is always looking to better my teaching practices and craft. I am looking to connect with other educators with like interests to collaborate and exchange ideas.
