As a specialist school nurse and practice lecturer, I work with young people in their school community. I also have a practice lecturer role at London South Bank Univsity, supporting student school nurses and health visitors to link theory to their placement experiences. As a public health practitioner, I work closely with other professionals, such as therapists, social workers and school staff to help young people navigate their way to to health and to lower barriers to learning. My particular interest and expertise is in initial health assessment of individual children and young people. I am a Queen's Nurse and was recently a finalist in this year's CPVHA School Nurse of the Year Award. Recently, I have been actively involved in promoting The Who Cares? Project, through the charity Kidstime Foundation: raising awareness about children whose parents suffer from a mental illness. I am also a first aid trainer with First Aid for Life, running fun, captivating courses for bespoke groups of adults and young people.
