Jessica Tippens, architect, is the owner and primary consultant of loess architecture llc, which she founded in 2002 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since then, the full-service architecture firm has been employed on a number of design and planning projects in New Orleans and Portland. In addition to her work with loess, Jessica has worked in association with several large architecture firms, such as Studio WTA, Yost Grube Hall Architecture, Blitch Knevel Architects, and Trapolin Peer Architects. She considers it a privilege to have been able to work on so many different types of projects, including higher education and laboratory buildings, single family residences, hospitals and health facilities, mixed-use and adaptive reuse residential developments, and even the United States Embassy in Pakistan. Ms. Tippens’s professional affiliations include the National Council for Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), & EcoDistricts Sustainable Neighborhood Initiative. She is also a graduate of Tulane University’s School of Architecture where she now acts as an adjunct professor and mentor to graduate students earning their masters in architecture. Jessica is also a sought-after mentor for young professional architects pursuing licensure. She has been involved in a number of award-winning projects, including the LSUHSC John P. Isché Library Commons, which was featured in New Orleans Magazine as one of the top architecture designs of 2010. Alongside various teams, Jess Tippens, has also received recognition from the American Institute of Architects for Interior Architecture, Adaptive Reuse, and more. One of her favorite things about architecture is that there is always more to learn, and she looks forward to continuing her work and solving new problems in future years.
