Jessica van Dop DeJesus

Jessica van Dop DeJesus is a Washington, DC - based travel and food blogger with her blog, The Dining Traveler. She began traveling as a young US Marine 17 years ago and has been to 38 countries on and off duty. She spent most of her post-collegiate years overseas, starting with a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan and most recently spent 6 years in Belgium (with a year in Germany in between). She comes from a bi-cultural upbringing as she grew up in Puerto Rico and Western NY State. All of these experiences gives her broad perspective on food and travel. After many years away, melancholy crept in and decided to repatriate to the United States in 2012. She currently lives in Washington, DC, with her Dutch husband, Martin van Dop who lends an European eye to the blog through photos and editing.
As a Washington DC resident since 2012, she's fallen in love with the city and loves to share unique experiences from a traveler's perspective.
