Jessica Yang

Hello! I am a computer science and cognitive science double major at Yale University, graduating in 2016.

Things I can do for you include front-end web design and development; illustration, character and other forms of visual design; writing, tutoring, geeking out about the fantastic webcomic The Order of the Stick and other cool things.

I'm interested in the field of user experience. I'm also interested in human-computer interaction, exploring the differences between computer-mediated/augmented and 'traditional' tasks, and looking into the use of computer tools for improved mental health and general well-being. We don't really do that kind of stuff at my university, so I play with robots instead at our Social Robotics Lab.

Other interests are tech (of course!), art (also obvious!), education, psychology, language, writing, gender/sexual diversity, and video games.

Hobbies include drawing, making comics, knowledge acquisition, singing, photography, learning aikido (I train under the Yoseikan Budo style) and playing The Lord of the Rings Online. I am also currently attempting to teach myself German.
