What do you want to be when you grow up and why?

I want to be an Agriculture teacher and FFA adviser for high school students. Joining FFA when I was in high school changed my life, it made me into the leader I am today, it made me want to go to college, to WSU. I want to give back and give students a reason to learn. I want to help students find their passion whatever it may be.

Why did you choose WSU?

I chose WSU because I visited every year in high school for State FFA convention. I knew I wanted to be an Ag teacher and that WSU was the place for me. I fell in love with the beauty of campus and the passion of the Cougs.

Favorite campus spot: Thompson flats is my favorite place, no matter what season it is, Thompson flats is always beautiful and relaxing. It has the best view of the sunsets, sledding in the winter, and sun bathing in the summer.

What is your fondest WSU memory thus far?

For the Seahawks fans out there you will understand this story. At Apple Cup 2012, the Cougs came back from an 18 point deficit in the 4th quarter to win the game in overtime with a score of 31-28 against the University of Washington. The energy put forth by the WSU students was incredible, the last few minutes of the game seemed like eternity, but the power of the 12th man was present, I truly believe that the enthusiasm shown by our students helped our Cougs on their path to victory.

What advice do you have for new students?

College is an experience like no other, it will change your life forever. Let go of your expectations, meet new people, and get involved.

What advice do you have for new Coug parents?

This is a time to rediscover yourself, go have fun and trust that your student can take care of themselves. It will be scary, but it will help them grow. If your student needs help they will ask you, good luck!
