Hi there, I'm Jessie! After studying English literature for almost two years, I began my studies as a Creative Industries student at Ryerson University, where I am currently studying media and communication.

My passion for working in the creative industries began with the fine arts. As an artist at heart, I am always creating something new, from whimsical sketches to watercolours. Since beginning my studies in media and communication, my love of painting and illustration quickly turned into a passion for graphic design, now focusing my artistic efforts on designing logos, websites, business cards and any other new project that comes my way!

During an internship at Look Local Magazine in 2014 (a local arts and culture magazine based in Burlington/Oakville), I was able to develop my skills in wordpress, photoshop and CorelDraw, furthering my experience in graphic and website design. Though I still often find myself doodling the time away and doing commissioned work, I have been able to apply these skills to help small business owners and entrepreneurs develop and maintain their social media presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, create compelling blog content and develop websites that reflect their brand story.

Aside from work and school, you can find me with my two dogs Samuel Dean and Coco Bean, finding new items for my ever-growing stationery collection or colour-coding my calendar. As an instagram addict, I am always updating my social media with what I'm getting up to and my latest creative projects, so you can find me pretty much everywhere @jessieborsell (my Italian last name doesn't agree well with character limits).
