Rev.Jesus J. Laguerra
Staten Island, New York, USA
I have dedicated my professional life to work with families who face many existential challenges which require resiliency and resourcefulness. I have provided leadership in at risk communities both in urban and rural setting along the north east coast in the U.S. mainland as well as Puerto Rico. I possess strong assessment skills and advocacy skills in order to empower individuals, families, and communities from all types of ethnic/religious backgrounds. In addition, I have provided interpretation/translation services for hispanics in diverse medical/educational/legal/community settings. I have worked with Cuban Mariela refugees, Salvadoran refugees and many South American and Caribbean immigrants.
I am a strong believer in a holistic paradigm which helps foster imagination and faith in order to accomplish worthwhile humanistic goals of self-actualization. The only thing that stops us is fear and doubt. Nothing is impossible and "imagination is greater than knowledge" (Einstein).
I always have an open ear to learn new things and I am very passionate in cultivating solidarity with diverse groups.
