Hello, I’m Jesus. I’m a student living in Napa, CA. Studying viticulture and enology at the University of California, Davis. UC Davis was my number one choice after high school. Being accepted into one of the premier Viticulture and Enology programs was a dream come true to me, but getting into Davis was only the first step. Being a first-generation college student has motivated me to pursue a career in order to support my family. I want to continue to work hard as an undergraduate student to one day graduate with a bachelor’s degree and be prepared to take a job within the wine industry. While at UC Davis I try to involve myself in the Viticulture and Enology department by participating in DEVO (Davis Enology and Viticulture Organization), meeting new peers, and getting to know different staff and professors within the department. While studying at UC Davis, my goal is to take part in internships that focus more on enology. My hope is to intern over the summer while I am not in school to become more knowledgeable in winemaking.
