Jesus Vargas
Orange County, Anaheim, CA
Jesus Vargas, a hard working and determined individual, is a new resident to Orange County, CA. Despite being born and raised in the heart of Los Angeles, Mr. Vargas took great initiative in gearing the start of his career and education in Executive Management. After six years in the labor industry, Mr. Vargas decided he was ready to challenge his capabilities and explore other industries that would could benefit from his already existent core competencies; the first being a start up non-profit organization.
This is not the first time Mr. Vargas has been involved in the service industry. In fact, he has been an active volunteer in his local community for the last 3 years. He has contributed much of his time to several causes and worked with many community members in great need of compassionate contribution. Some compassionate contributions include coaching a little league in South Central LA, providing supportive services to seriously ill individuals in recovery, mentoring disabled adults, and assiting struggling single mothers with the care their minor children.
Mid October 2012, Mr. Vargas became the first out of eight volunteers to not only accept a position as an apprentice with EnGage In A Million, but to relocate to a residency provided by the Executive Director herself in order for Mr. Vargas to learn the non-profit industry and organizational management of such a charitable industry around the clock and from its ground up.
Mr. Vargas, also a disabled adult with a language and speech disability, has become proven to that with patience, persistance, and perseverance an individual can most definitely break through barriers and move forward in the executive workforce. All this making him not only an exemplory role model to persons with disabilities but a excellent mentor to inner city youth determined to break free of the common barriers imposed on them by economics and their demographic.
"It is rare to find a person like Jesus that never turns down an opportunity to learn something new, remains optimistic and composed at all times, and most of all is willing to give everything has to a genuine cause. It is a pleasure to have an apprentice that is not only motivated by the idea of social and civic betterment but confident about his role in the vision as well."
Elisha Martinez, Executive Director
