jetsetwho? allow me to explain.

i’ve always been a traveler, a worldly girl with a passion for culture. i guess it started with my family, who taught me, at a very young age, that a mestiza eating dinuguan with her hands was awesome. and it was awesome. they taught me how to dance the tinikling, dressed me in traditional clothes, and even flew me to my mom’s homeland to meet my relatives, who made livings as farmers and nurses. they made me research my native history, and taught me many words in filipino (this was my same-aged godbrother, who loved to curse). at the same time, i lived an american lifestyle. hamburgers, shopping, and all the toys i could convince my dad to buy. but i never forgot who i was, and the my filipino culture always reminded me.

aside from history, i’ve managed to see a lot with the little time i’ve had to explore. so far i’ve traveled to every continent (yes, including antarctica!) and am currently working on my next goal – seeing the seven modern world wonders. i’ve spent most of me time traveling in south america and the eastern pacific region. i have worked in the middle east, studied abroad, and had many great encounters with people and revelations that would never have come to me otherwise.

i have an adventure planned early next year to the middle east and it is a long one. someday i will hike the camino del santiago and someday i will backpack europe and someday i will go on a wild african safari. it will happen!
