A certified case manager and a registered nurse in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Florida, Jewelyn Sims has a wealth of experience in the healthcare field. She currently serves as founder and CEO of Integrated MedLegal Solutions in Washington, D.C., a legal nurse consulting business. In her leadership position, Jewelyn Sims utilizes her extensive knowledge of regulatory standards, medical review practices, and healthcare facility procedures to assist law firms, insurance companies, and other organizations on issues having to do with case management, medical record reviews, standards of care, and disability cases. Ms. Sims is an active member and a former executive board member of the Case Management Society of America and holds the title of secretary of the board for the Greater Baltimore Area Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC).

Recently, Ms. Sims also served as the manager of disability and processing for the eligibility department at United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) Health & Retirement Funds in Washington, D.C. She was responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day activities of the disability staff, including professional nurse analysts and specialists. Jewelyn Sims also spearheaded the development of the disability department’s policies and procedures manual and engaged in strategic planning in regards to the health and retirement pension department.

Ms. Sims graduated magna cum laude with a master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University and later obtained an MBA from Webster University.
