My passion was not always to exercise and eat healthy. Actually, it was quite the opposite. I spent much of my early years observing others and watching from the sideline. However, things began to change toward the end of my Senior year of high school. I decided to take action, going for a run that would change my life forever...and for the better.

That day I ran three miles, came home to a healthy balanced breakfast of eggs and bananas and thus started my weight loss journey. Journey is definitely the best word to describe it as it was not easy all the way through. In fact, very little of it was easy but my determination exceeded my fear and my expectations.

Now, I could not imagine my life any other way and I am glad to thank the University of Massachusetts for their help and their healthy dining commons. They are a big reason for my overall transformation. I call it a transformation because I did change. Though, I did not lose my fundamental personality, rather, I finally let it shine completely, not being afraid to share myself with the world anymore.
