John M. Fife founded Chicago Venture Partners after completing his tenure as Assistant Vice President at Continental Illinois Venture (CIVC). An entrepreneur, an investor, and a supporter of numerous causes related to schooling and the arts, John M. Fife uses his role at CVP to personally manage a few companies and manage CVP's overall portfolio of 100+ companies listed on the NASDAQ and OTCBB exchanges.

John M. Fife is particularly active in supporting medical innovation and the delivery of medical devices to organizations who need them. Through his role as CEO of Typenex Medical, Fife oversees all operations undertaken by about 40 employees.

In addition to this, Fife is the Chairman of the Board at United American Healthcare Corp.

John M. Fife earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Statistics at Brigham Young University in 1986. Since then Fife has donated over half a million dollars to the BYU Museum of Art, which is one of the most popular university-campus art museums in the country. He also donates to BYU’s Annual Giving Fund.

Fife is also a proud Harvard University alumnus, having earned his MBA in Business Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1990. He has donated to The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, which focuses on public policy and administration.

Outside of supporting his own alma maters, Fife funded a dedication ceremony at the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association in honor of his father, who was involved with the association for over twenty years. Fife’s father was an associate professor emeritus at the University of Vermont.

Fife also owns about 4,000 acres of land (mostly in Utah) which he is in the process of developing. He was one of the original largest landowners in the Deer Crest area in Deer Valley. Most recently he put up the funds needed to build and open Odyssey Charter School for children in American Fork, Utah. He hopes to get more involved in educational initiat
