John Fleischauer

John Fleischauer currently serves as the technical director at The Capstone United Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Capstone United Methodist Church is a new Untied Methodist community launched in September 2012 and is dedicated to the principles of allowing people to experience God through faith, reason, and action, with a particular focus on the nonreligious and nominally religious.

In his role as technical director, John is responsible for training and scheduling production volunteers for the weekly service, coordinating the setup, teardown, storage, and maintenance of equipment, maintaining the church website, and providing input into the overall vision of the church.

Prior to coming to The Capstone, John served as technical director at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Decatur, Alabama, where he remains on staff as the worship production coordinator and graphic designer. He also has experience in both healthcare and education information technology.

Outside of the professional world, John is an active volunteer with the American Red Cross, where he currently serves as Volunteer Coordinator for the West Alabama Chapter in a volunteer capacity. In this role, he is responsible for managing the career path of volunteers within the chapter, including advising new and existing volunteers of opportunities within the organization and ensuring that their training and other needs are met. In addition, John serves as a liaison to the Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency during local disasters, and deploys on national disaster relief operations as a member of the Disaster Services Technology team.

John is also currently enrolled in the University of Alabama, where he will graduate in 2015 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a depth study in emergency management. On campus, he is very active with the Wesley Foundation, where he serves on the ministry's leadership team responsible for both the ministry as a whole and specifically the weekly worship service.
