Joseph Gaudet
Joe Gaudet discovered his passion for photography, film & video through the gift of a 35mm camera, at the age of 15. He learned his craft first by taking a series of photography courses, which helped him win awards for yearbook photography for his high school, followed by four years in the Navy as aerial photographer and helicopter rescue swimmer. Joe attended Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA where he excelled, earning Fuji and Kodak scholarships before graduating with honors, and degrees in advertising photography and motion picture production.
Joe apprenticed for two professional photographer’s and a film production company, before opening his studio in Dallas, where he shot over 500 assignments for regional clients, including Compaq, Exxon, Dillard’s, Foley’s, Frito Lay, Hyatt Hotels, Gordon’s Jewelers, Southland Corporation, Texas Instruments, McCormick Spices, Pepsi, Hyatt Regency Hotels, Neiman Marcus, Coca Cola Foods, Quaker Oats, Dr. Pepper/7-Up and more.
Joe’s desire to go full-time into film and video production led to shooting music videos in Nashville, where he worked his way up from art director to camera operator, before earning the position of director, and director of photography. He became known for the same graphic visual style that made him a successful photographer, and his work attracted Nashville record labels, including Mercury, Capitol, Curb, RCA/BNA, MCA, Step One and Benson Music Group, and recording artist’s including Willie Nelson, Wynonna, Clint Black, Allison Kraus, Billy Dean, Jeff Chance, Ricky Lynn Gregg, Roger Springer, McBride and The Ride, and NewSong.
His experience with producing, script-writing, graphic design, photography, video editing and broadcast television led to a number of creative director/producer positions for Scripps Broadcasting (Shop At Home/HGTV/Food Network), ReacTV / 7.TV and Passport Marine.
Joe's a film and video specialist with the creative and technical skills to support his vision. Recent clients include Adidas, Yahoo Sports, Teen.com, Sony Music, Stihl, Lifestyle Family Fitness, VF Corporation, 386 Nanotech, Clientele Beauty, Launch DRTV, Alternative First, and Heritage Propane.
