J. Gaut

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and left the Alamo City to pursue a college education in the small west Texas town, San Angelo. After a couple years at Angelo State University, I finally focused my wide array of interests into degree in Government and two minors, one in English Literature and the other in Journalism.

Angelo State University proffered an affordable means for me to pay for my education as a first generation college graduate and a child of hard working, middle class parents--I earned my bachelor's degree in 2009 and directly persued graduate school the semester after I graduated.

During the first half of my time in graduate school, I took on a position as a Government tutor for the university, I took on another position as Supplemental Instruction Leader at a nearby community college, and I also had the privledge to work as a graduate assistant to the Curriculum and Instruction Department Head, Dr. Summerlin.
