I volunteer to speak at schools in New York, NY about environmental change, global poverty, world hunger and improving the community. For environmental change, I speak about what is actually happening in the environment right now, how individual actions are impacting it, how individual actions can help and why anyone should care.For global poverty and world hunger, I speak about what the UN does to help these global issues, how these global issues have improved over the year, what exactly these global issues are and how individual actions can help.For improving the community, I explain how, in order to improve the neighborhood, students need to start with themselves, then others, after, the school, finally the community.I place a lot of emphasis on individual actions because many students feel like they are only one person, but students do not realize how much an individual action can do. My mission is to motivate students to get up and make a positive difference in the world.
