ARTIST’S BIOGRAPHY
Best known for his intensely colorful and light filled watercolors oflocal subjects and flora, regionally renowned artist Jim Weaver hasbeen a professional artist for more than 35 years. A nativeOregonian, Jim has traveled and shown his work throughout the westernstates. Formal training in fine and graphic arts lead him to acareer in the graphic field after college. Soon, however, heembarked on a career in the fine arts being heavily influenced by thework of Winslow Homer, Charles Burchfield and his college professorKenneth Watson. Always living close to and interested in nature,the classic landscape has always lured him as a subject worthy ofemulating. Lately he has pursued a new interest in depicting humanemotion and drama in a style just beyond realism.
He has exhibited in scores of solo and group shows over the years aswell as numerous national and international juried shows, achievingawards from many of them. His work is in several corporatecollections including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and ArthurAnderson Consultants plus many hundreds of private collections.
The Okanogan valley and highlands of north central Washington statehave been Jim’s home for close to 30 years. The diversity andnatural beauty of this region has been a staple resource for hisart’s subject matter.
