A professor with Temple University since 2009, Dr. Jie Wu focuses on research related to mobile computing and wireless networks, cloud and green computing, and social network applications. He serves as director of the Center for Networked Computing and director of international affairs at the College of Science and Technology. Before joining Temple University, Dr. Jie Wu was a distinguished professor at Florida Atlantic University, as well as a program director at the National Science Foundation.

In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Wu regularly contributes to scholarly journals and conference proceedings. The author of the 2014 book Opportunistic Mobile Social Networks, he also serves on various editorial boards. In recognition of his accomplishments, he received the 2011 China Computer Federation (CCF) Overseas Outstanding Achievement Award.

Dr. Wu holds a master’s degree in computer science from Shanghai University of Science and Technology and a PhD in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
