Publicist. Journalist. Entrepreneur. Currently a publicist at Grand Central Publishing in New York, Jihan works specifically in the Multi-cultural, Business, and Romance Imprints. Her primary focuses include media relations, publicity campaigns, media research and updating contact lists. Jihan is also the Founder of the BelTiFi "Pretty Young Girl" empowerment organization dedicated to enhancing the professional development and personal advancement of young Haitian-American women in the New York Area. Created in October 2009 in the memory of her grandmother, Yolande Paret, Jihan intended to savor the knowledge given by her grandmother and create a platform where young women could grow. Working with 8 other director's, known as the "Beauties," BelTiFi's aim is to promote female empowerment and civic engagement in the Haitian community. Through the use of interactive workshops, special programs, and communications sector including a radio show, TV show, and online bulletin, BelTiFi plans to open up the gateways to professional success and establish beneficial relationships with other young Haitian-American women and enable mentorship opportunities with prominent Haitian-American professional women.
