Jil Köhn
Designer and cultural scientist
I am a graduate cultural scientist and jewelry designer. I am passionate about all aspects of jewelry concepts of either theoretical and practical nature. As culture includes everything that people create and shape, the close link between the two disciplines becomes evident. I am conducting research in the field of jewelry theory, which forms a sub-category of design theory. I am always looking for new approaches, ideas and theories with the aim to reach clear definitions in order to rethink and expand the general concept of jewelry. In addition to the theoretical framework concerning the question about the meaning and intention of ornamentation, I create unique pieces as well as serial jewelry. My creative love and passion lies with minimalistic design with clear color accents. The focus lies on the endeavor to create an habitual relationship between ornament and the wearer.
