Jill Atkinson

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Ever since she can remember, Jill Atkinson loved drawing, writing, playing outside and asking questions. Not much has changed since then.

At agencies MacLaren McCann, BBDO and Sharpe Blackmore Euro, Jill hit her stride, building brands and winning awards as an art director, copywriter and creative lead.

Jill switched gears when she joined the television industry, and found new brands to build as a broadcast creative director at CBC. Together with her stellar team, she contributed to some of the highest ratings in that network's history.

As a freelance creative consultant, Jill continued to shoot commercials and write advertising copy for a wide range of clients such as Toyota, DuPont and Intuition.

Later, Jill joined Shaw Media as the Creative Director for On-Air, Specialty and discovered the secret to creating engaging branded content. At Shaw, Jill oversaw some of Canada's most successful specialty channels such as Showcase, History, National Geographic Channel, H2, Action, IFC and MovieTime.

As a journalist/blogger, Jill continues to ask questions, and has written many articles and posts over the years in support of the people and the players who play to the left of fear and in the process, make the world a better place.

In her spare time she tries to keep up with 3 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 opinionated husband.
