I'm a late bloomer. As a under-employed and semi-retired office executive, I started writing childrens books. And with no formal training, attempted to illustrate them with some very simple drawings. The first book was to make myself less depressed with being laid off, losing my home to foreclosure and having my son, Chuck, deployed again to Iraq. Hence, "Chuck the Camel" was born. When asked by a friend what I missed most about my home, I mentioned the peach tree in the backyard at which my then 24-yr-old son, Ross questioned "We had a peachtree in the backyard". That was the subject of my 2nd book, "Ross and the Peach Tree". My 3rd book just came out spring '11 and the title is one for all kids who hate vegetables: "I'd Rather Eat a Worm".
