Jill Tizekker

Jill Tizekker emerged onto Portland’s Comedy Scene in late 2011 as “The Cougar Comic”. Born in Portland, OR and raised by Evangelical Conservative Christian parents in Boise, ID, Jill moved back to the Portland area in 1991, following the birth of her son.

Raising him on her own, Jill found life as a bartender allowed her the freedom and flexibility she needed as a single parent.

Her empty nest status has allowed her to explore her passions, writing and comedy. After losing her job in 2009, she began writing her memoir entitled “How Big Is Your 8” Pizza? …and Other Profound Questions, My Life As A Bartender.” While at a friend’s house on Thanksgiving in 2011, she was regaling the group with excerpts from the book and was encouraged to take her material to the stage. She was booked the next month at The Someday Lounge Incubator in Portland, OR.

Since then, Jill has been performing at local open mics to hone her skills as an artist. She regularly performs at The Red Room, Helium Comedy Club and made her big stage debut at Harvey's Comedy Club in 2013.

“My material just writes itself.” Jill’s material ranges from her life as a bartender, to being a single woman in her 40’s, to being raised in a “Footloose” environment.
