Jim Seebock is a City Councilman in Henderson, Nevada, where he has served for the past three years. He works alongside the mayor and fellow councilmembers to address important issues affecting Nevada’s second-largest city, including the historic Water District. The city is widely recognized as one of the safest and most desirable places to live in the United States. In his role, he also represents the community on the Regional Transportation Commission, the Regional Flood Control board, and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.

Before entering public service as a councilman, Jim spent more than three decades with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. During that time, he served in several positions, including Patrol Officer, Narcotics Detective, K9 Handler, Patrol Sergeant, Counterterrorism Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Assistant Sheriff. In 2022, he reached the rank of Assistant Sheriff, where he oversaw all uniformed officers across the department.

Seebock's law enforcement career included leadership over training programs, counterterrorism efforts, public safety operations, and tactical response teams. He directed operations involving crisis negotiations, homeland security units, and large-scale emergency coordination. He also supervised training for approximately 5,000 department members and worked closely with local, state, and federal agencies on intelligence and crime prevention initiatives.

During major emergencies, including the October 1, 2017, Las Vegas mass shooting, Jim Seebock, Councilman, was selected to lead the Department Operations Center responsible for coordinating response efforts. Over the years, his service was recognized with the Unit Medal of Valor, multiple Meritorious Service Medals, and the Community Service Award. He retired from law enforcement in July 2023.

Seebock earned degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and Security Studies while continuing his career in public safety. He also completed advanced Nevada POST training and additional leadership and investigative programs.

Councilman Jim Seebock moved to Henderson with his family in 1986 and attended local schools before graduating from high school. After losing his father during his teenage years, he helped support his family while his mother worked two jobs. He later married his high school sweetheart, and they became parents to twins through embryo adoption. He remains active in volunteer coaching, church service, community boards, and charitable support throughout the Henderson area.
