Desc: An ex-seminary student abducts a priest, a pregnant girl, and her abortion doctor, forcing them to confront the morality of their choices. Producer's Notes: We finally made the leap from short films to a feature film. This was a self financed micro budget indie, so it was designed to be inexpensive to shoot - three locations, minimal setups, run-and-gun camera operation, one set of wardrobe, and dialog heavy. Without the financial means to hire B or A level actors, we attempted to gain attention by selecting controversial subject matter. Religion, abortion, and hypocrisy. The secondary method used to gain attention was experimental - blending of narrative footage with documentary footage. While it screened well and feedback was positive, it failed on the festival circuit, 0 out of 17. We were on time, on budget, and completed the film. Desc: Not your typical ingredients for a fairy tale. - Producer's Notes: Shot on 16mm film, at night, over a scheduled 9 days. This was one of the most difficult films that I've ever produced. Ever have those moments when you are about to fall asleep and your brain decides to review all your life's major failures? For more than a year and without pause, this film would rise to the top of the list. Ultimately the Producer has to take ownership of the project's failures such has going way over budget, a crew that was woefully unprepared for the shoot, no shot list, and running out of film halfway through the shoot. In the end the film was completed, however, it took me about two years before I worked on another film. Pre-production: July 2007 - Principal Photography: October 2007
