Jim Allison

My diverse and creative job is Manager of Planning for Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), the manager of Intercity Passenger Rail Service in Northern California . My motivations are to promote and enable travel in ways to lower our environmental footprint, while promoting health, personal productivity, and local economic vitality. Bicycles can play a huge role in the communities of the future and my almost daily use of a bicycle for a variety of trip purposes is a way to live that lifestyle.

With my wife Lorraine we have the pleasure of raising two girls to be good future citizens. In my spare time, when I am not out riding my bicycles, I also find time to play drums and other instruments in a rock band (Fresh Red) and produce/mix the music.
