Jim Browning
Founder President of JB Services in Colorado, USA
I grew up on a farm in Texas, where I first learned how to solve problems with limited resources. My dad was a teacher and my mom was a nurse, and both showed me the value of hard work and helping others. Running became my “lifetime sport” early on, and it continues to be something that keeps me grounded.
I went on to study engineering at West Point, where I served as captain of the Sandhurst Team and learned what it meant to lead through both discipline and teamwork. Later, I completed additional engineering studies at the University of Missouri S&T and earned my MBA from Duke University. Those years gave me the foundation to blend technical systems thinking with business strategy.
After 9/11, I served with the United Nations Command in Asia, supporting the Chief of Staff. That experience taught me how to adapt quickly, learn complex systems, and build teams that could depend on one another. From there, I transitioned into the private sector, first leading education programs in trades like cosmetology, HVAC, and medical certifications, and then later scaling specialty retail businesses like the Run Specialty Group and RNK Running in Colorado.
Today, I lead JB Services, where I provide fractional leadership to businesses across industries. My approach is simple: begin with the end in mind, build systems like you’d build a house, and always put people first. I believe that real success isn’t about me—it’s about lifting others and helping them achieve their goals
