Looking back, in 1989 I decided to start a booking agency for John Crabtree and his local band.. In 1992 I created the Entertainment Management Company to help other entertainers pursue a career in music. In 1995 I founded what is now known as Spotlight Records to record the acts I was promoting. Also in 1995 I founded the James Paul Music Publishing Company (BMI) while in Nashville, Tennessee. After that I successfully signed and promoted Debbie Collins and Brandi Lynn Howard both country entertainers to local, regional, national and international exposure. I shortly followed with a rock group known as Category IV and in 2009 I recorded a new country artist by the name of Todd Berry. In 2008 I formed a new company by the name of the Access Entertainment Group and incorporated 3 other divisions to that company to include Access Talent; a booking agency, Spotlight Records; a recording company, James Paul Music; a music publishing company (BMI), JPaul Publishing (ASCAP). Later I added James Paul Publishing; a book publishing company.
The firm and its founder Jim Bruce and hit agents have demonstrated expertise in booking, recordings, career development, consultation, marketing, publicity, media production and talent management. We book national, regional and local acts in and around Ohio for charities, special events, fairs and festivals. We pride ourselves in being the event planner for charities and special events uniting the artist with the cause.
