Jim Decker Vancouver BC

Vancouver, BC-based Jim Decker pursues his passions through his work as well as in his free time. Professionally, he works as a private ski instructor and teaches both new and experienced skiers how to improve their skills and build their confidence. He offers lessons at some of British Columbia's world-class ski areas. James Decker also serves as a freelance photographer and the owner and operator of Jim Decker Photography of Vancouver, BC. As a photographer for hire, he takes family and individual portraits and covers a wide range of events in British Columbia and other parts of Canada. The events include weddings, commercial assignments, and sports, particularly skiing and snowboarding.

Outside of work, James Decker competes in amateur ski competitions throughout Canada, the United States, and Switzerland. He has traveled around the world on assignment and for leisure purposes. Over the years, he has photographed many of the world’s elite sporting events, including the Winter Olympics, the Winter X Games, the World Series, and the Super Bowl. When he returns to his home in Canada, he enjoys volunteering at local homeless shelters.
