Jimena del Solar Escardó
Lives in Barcelona, España
I am a linguist and visual artist with an interdisciplinary background spanning linguistics, culture, and digital humanities. My work combines research, documentation, and cultural practice through collaborations with universities—including the University of Barcelona (UB), the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED)—as well as cultural initiatives such as Homesession and Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana.
I have also worked as an independent translator, proofreader, and editor, particularly on projects related to contemporary art.
In 2015, I resumed my artistic practice as part of the Escardó & Machó collective, with the project Amarillo, Liso, Verde, Rugoso, presented at Espai Colona (Barcelona, 2016), and with the exhibition Ni temps ni geografia, held at Fundació Felícia Fuster (Barcelona, 2017) and CEC Sorbonne Université (Paris, 2018). I have created artists' publications exploring new editorial and printing formats, as well as designs for musical projects.
In 2024, I passed the competitive exam to join the library assistant pool of the Barcelona Provincial Council.
I am also a member of the project CIRCUL’ARTs (Connecting Critical Pedagogies, Inclusive Art Forms and Alternative Barometers for Urban Sustainability), a COST Action approved for funding in 2024.
