The recipient of a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA with emphasis in finance, management information systems, and accounting from Duquesne University, Jim Gill began his career as an auditor with the City of Pittsburgh. After serving for two years in this role, he was hired as a contract administrator supervisor by the Allegheny County Department of Aviation. Jim Gill spent four years with this department before assuming the role of deputy executive director of finance and administration at the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA).

Over the course of four years in the latter position, Jim Gill initiated the passenger-facility program, which resulted in in an excess of $25 million in revenue for capital expenditures, and negotiated agreements for an airport service station, hotel and conference center, and other commercial development on airport property. Mr. Gill served in a similar capacity at Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority for six years before returning to ACAA in 2007 to serve as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Jim Gill spent an additional nine years in varying capacities with ACAA, after which he was appointed president and CEO of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority in Grand Rapids, MI, where he served for nearly two years. These days, he leverages his extensive background in aviation management to support airport administrators in his advisory role at the global consulting firm of LeighFisher. Mr. Gill is a national board member of Airports Council International - North America and an at-large member of the Board of Examiners of the American Association of Airport Executives.
