Dr. Jim Granada

An educator for 34 years, I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's in educational psychology, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction. I have recently joined the education faculty at Wichita State University after serving as Director of Gifted Education for 11 years in the Austin Independent School District in Texas. Prior to moving to Austin, I served as a gifted education specialist at the Region 20 Education Service Center in San Antonio and on the faculties of The University of Texas at San Antonio and Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. I started my career as a public school teacher and taught in Kansas school districts for 17 years. My specializations and research interests include Hispanic and bilingual gifted, creativity, curriculum development and designing effective professional learning experiences. I am available for consulting in any of these areas, and have presented nationally and internationally on these topics.
