Hoboken, NJ

Jim McMillan is a diversified Entrenpenuer . He is a Principal partner at Strategic Capital Partners, a real estate development and holdings company. He lives in the Hoboken vicinity with his wife and two sons.

He moved to the east coast in 1996 from Seattle after pursuing an acting and modeling career. After that, he continued his real estate and mortgage profession and turned it into a portion of his current career. Although no longer pursuing the acting career, the passion for creativity has never left him, which has led him to writie screenplays, commercials and other short stories in his spare time or "zen-time," as he likes to call it. He is currently working to publish his first book, a childrens book entitled "Freddy the Firedog,' which he wrote years ago after telling it to his oldest son every night before bed. "The story used to change every night until my son started to correct me and tell me about a part I missed or was wrong about." After that, it had to stay the same. Now Jim tells the same story to his youngest son and hopes to expand on the "Freddy the Firedog," series after completing the first book.

He has always been a well rounded person, "enjoying all the aspects of the different cultures we live amongst each day." To this, he credits his various entrenpenurial ventures. "I think just living in a society that is so broadly diverse in ehtnicity, economics, religion and politics, it's allowed me to randomly just sit down anywhere at anytime and create opportunities."

He patented one of the first web kiosks for airports, shopping malls and other arenas in 1994 a few years before the internet boom exploded. "I didnt really know too much about the internet at the time, except that it was going to change the way we get information. I invented the web kiosk as a way to allow people at anytime they were in a public venue, to access the internet and use it for whatever they needed. He sold the patent for an undisclosed amount in 2002. "I have no regrets about selling it, i think it was bigger than me, alone, and it allowed me to open other doors going forward."

Besides the real estate industry, he is back in the internet world with three to five different companies that will [change the way we shop forever.] "I'm extremely excited about the platforms we are building. Rather than rush to get it out the door, we are making sure it is not only ready, but consumer friendly, entertaining and accessible a
