Jimmy Apoet
Baltimore, Md.
Jimmy Apoet is a 24 year old Recording Artist and Poet from Baltimore, Md with a creative vision and social awareness that seperates him from other artists. He discovered his artistic abilities when he was just 13 years old. Showcasing his talent in school cyphers and competitions his peers began to notice his determination to become one of the elites. Influenced by rappers such as Tupac Shakur and Nas he swayed towards the more serious side of music. Rapping about the effects of poverty and his want to change the world people came to know him for his consciousness. Jimmy has been compared to artists such as Common, Tech Nine, Nas, J.Cole, and Wale.
The Baltimore lyracist introduced his first official mixtape "Hear Me Out " on Febuary 1st, 2013 and was openely recieved by hip hop enthusiasts in his community and the music host site, commonly used by upcoming artists, Reverbnation. His fresh lyrics and self produced beats earned him a top five ranking next to other artists in his city on the website. Taking that momentum and runnning he immediatly began to collaborate with local artists such as FluX,Quinn Shabaz,Leon Dominick,Ramon Chaos and a laundry list of others. This landed him a spot on the roster of the self-made label War Drumz Audio Art (WDAA) also based out of Baltimore,Md. After a short period of time and several contract disagreements he requested to be removed from WDAA's roster. Although he still associates himself with the label he is now reconigzed as an independent artist.
Jimmy Apoet began 2014 by dropping various singles. On April 2,2014 FreshDailyInc interviewed him and posted the article on their website Freshdailyinc.net. Continuing to team up with artists, such as California's own DC, he began to turn the heads of several local promoters and venues. This earned him the music highlight of the month on Docscastle.com shortly after dropping his self-produced Ep "Don't Excuse My Lingo". Jimmy is currently a regular performer at The Depot on Monuemental Mondays and The 5 seasons on Open Mic Thursdays. He is currently planning on taking his talent to other cities and is also working on his record label Trebel Militia.
